Nathaniel Meader, son of Nathaniel Meader (1671-1704) [0004] and Eleanor Hall ( – ), was born at Oyster River on March 8, 1700. December 17, 1724 he married Rachel Sias, daughter of John Sias and Ann Pitman, by Rev. Hugh Adams. They lived in Lee. He was listed as a trained soldier on the south side of Oyster River May 5, 1732. He received a 25-acre grant of the Durham common lands March 18, 1734, located near Little River, in that part of Durham which is now Lee.
